Learn About This Location

When fire raged through Whiskey Row in Prescott (pronounced presc-it) in 1900, the locals managed to save their most prized possession: the 24ft-long Brunswick Bar from the Palace Saloon. After hauling the solid oak bar across the road to Courthouse Plaza, they resumed their drinks and continued to party.

Prescott's early spirit lives on, lending the historic downtown and surroundings a hospitable vibe. This easily explorable city, which was Arizona's first territorial capita, also enchants visitors with its Victorian buildings, streedside cafes, central plaza and arts scene. Whiskey Row hasn't changed much since the 19th century, and there's always a party going on in one of its saloons.
